Klein Ileleji

Launching technology from discovery to delivery

During research visits to Nigeria and Ghana, Klein Ileleji, associate professor of agricultural and biological engineering, saw the need for an inexpensive tool to efficiently dry crops, which would help local farmers reduce yield loss. College of Agriculture researchers have been working on problems like these for years, developing affordable, multiuse tools that could make an impact where they are needed most. But many large companies aren’t interested in investments that aren’t likely to provide a quick or abundant return. Purdue Agriculture's Envision magazine reports that the researchers are undeterred, taking on the challenges of entrepreneurship.
