Instructional Design Team

Course development team
makes instructors' visions
into online reality

For the past year, the Instructional Design team in Purdue Extended Campus has helped instructors turn high-enrollment, foundational courses into dynamic online offerings. Housed in Stewart Center, PEC's Instructional Design team consists of three instructional designers who work one-on-one with instructors to create online options for even the most complex courses.

Purdue commits to additional child care space

President Mitch Daniels announced today (May 12) that Purdue will be adding child care capacity for more than 100 children at the West Lafayette campus.

Memo: Xerox to hold center forums on printing services

This memo from Rob Wynkoop, managing director in the Office of the Executive Vice President for Business and Finance, Treasurer, is regarding center forums being held by Xerox in May to cover key program benefits, program updates, new and enhanced services, the new job submission process, and contact information. Xerox established management of Purdue's printing services operations on Feb. 3.

Faculty invited to participate in brief survey on social media

Instructors on Purdue's West Lafayette campus are invited to participate in a short survey on social media use in support of teaching and learning. Among other things, the survey will be used to identify exemplary uses of social media tools and to develop ways to better support use of those tools.

Federal work-study payroll workshop scheduled

A Federal Work-Study Student Payroll Procedures Workshop is set for 8:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 5 in Lawson Computer Science Building, Room 1142. The workshop will contain important information regarding the paperwork employers must process when hiring an FWS student as well as cover cost distribution setup for FWS students for the 2014-15 academic year.

Purdue Today summer schedule

Purdue Today will reduce its publishing schedule today (May 12) through Aug. 15. Regular publishing days during the summer will be Monday and Thursday. Daily publication will resume Aug. 18.

In celebration of National Bike Month, Purdue faculty and staff members are invited to participate in two organized rides on May 16 tied to Greater Lafayette's Bike to Work Day.

Purdue police are investigating a reported sexual assault that allegedly occurred around 3 a.m. Friday (May 9) on campus.

Peters receives Hovde Outstanding Faculty Fellow award

Jerry Peters, professor of youth development and agricultural education, has been named the 2013-14 Frederick L. Hovde Outstanding Faculty Fellow. Peters is the senior faculty fellow for Meredith Hall and the 30th winner of the annual award.
