A faculty member's suggestion inspired a new application, called Convoy, which aggregates PowerPoint slides, class handouts, videos, images, online material and note-taking functionality into a single, easy-to-use interface. ITaP is looking for faculty members to help pilot Convoy during the fall semester of 2014.
People
David Eichinger, associate professor of curriculum and instruction, has been named a recipient of the 2014 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Awards in Memory of Charles B. Murphy. Eichinger was surprised with the news on Tuesday (March 25).
Purdue will continue to announce Murphy Award winners throughout the week. The recipients announced on Monday were Kathleen Howell, the Hsu Lo Distinguished Professor of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, and Suzanne Nielsen, professor of food science. Cary Troy, assistant professor of civil engineering, received Purdue's new Exceptional Early Career Award.

We have just passed the halfway point in the three-year implementation of Purdue's Foundations of Excellence action plan, an initiative vital to student success and one that is seeing progress and results thanks to intentional coordination and willing partnerships among Undergraduate Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Housing and Food Services.
Today, we are announcing the next step in this initiative -- eliminating the boundaries among these units as envisioned in the original, overarching recommendation of FOE.

APSAC seeking feedback through online survey
The Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee is asking A/P staff to fill out a short online survey intended to gauge the group's effectiveness in communicating with constituents and meeting constituents' needs. Purdue's School of Industrial Engineering has received the first incentive award to support the design and launch of its new program in China that will help the University meet its goal of encouraging more students to study abroad.
Purdue's Envision Center, which uses a blend of technology and art to help enhance research and teaching by graphically representing data and information and creating publication-quality still visualizations, video, animations and interactive 3-D virtual environments, will mark its 10th anniversary with a special event in April.
