In the Spotlight
The major happenings at Purdue during 2013 are highlighted in the 59th edition of the Purdue Year in Review video. Titled "Moving Forward," the 12-minute program includes highlights such as the start of Mitch Daniels' term as Purdue's 12th president; the announcement of Purdue Moves; commencement; a Purdue study to reduce football and soccer concussions; four dedications -- the Herrick Lab for engineering research, the John Purdue statue, the new baseball stadium and a new space plane exhibit; grand prix; Boiler Gold Rush; Homecoming; and overseas trips by Purdue Bands and Purdue Musical Organizations.
Faculty and staff news
The Office of Engagement is seeking nominations for the Faculty Engagement Scholar Award, Corps of Engagement Award and Faculty Engagement Fellow Award. Nominations are due March 24. Details about the awards, including purpose, criteria, and general guidelines, are available here.
While Purdue works diligently to secure the University community's data from intruders, faculty, staff and students also need to be good stewards of data they have access to, as a recent data breach that exposed addresses and Social Security numbers of more than 146,000 Indiana University students and graduates shows.
"Thumbs Up" gives faculty and staff the chance to recognize others on campus for a job well done.

Students in Purdue's counseling psychology doctoral program within the Department of Educational Studies will offer a career assessment service this summer to the high school children of Purdue faculty and staff and to local high schoolers.
