Elizabeth Akey is committed to helping Purdue's clinical psychology graduate students gain the experience they need to become top-notch experts and practitioners in the field.
Akey is a clinical assistant professor of psychological sciences. In that role, she teaches, coaches and trains the graduate students who work at Purdue's Assessment Clinic, which serves children and adults with a range of issues, and Child Behavior Management Clinic, which serves children from 4 to 12 years old.

Purdue on Friday (Jan. 10) formally launched the search for its next provost with the naming and first meeting of a search advisory committee.

Individuals who use SharePoint can view a demonstration of Kaltura, an application for using rich media such as video, images and audio with SharePoint, at the next SharePoint Users and Developers (SPUD) meeting, which takes place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 15) in Lawson Computer Science Building, Room 1142.
The Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) is seeking applicants for special pre-doctoral training awards in translational research. Complete applications must be submitted by Feb. 3.

William Cooper, professor emeritus of biological sciences at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, is a member of a team that has confirmed Charles Darwin's observations that some prey creatures on remote islands are tame. The findings will be published in February in the print version of "Proceedings of the Royal Society B." The Indiana Arts Commission has selected Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne professor George Kalamaras as the new Indiana poet laureate.
Purdue officials announced Friday (Jan. 10) that Sigma Nu fraternity has been placed on probation for the spring semester.
