Galleries - Moonlight

Purdue Galleries to present 'Moonlight Cocktails' and figurative sculptures

Purdue Galleries on Monday and Tuesday (Jan. 13 and 14) will open two new exhibits, one a retrospective of printmaker David Driesbach and the other a roomful of figurative sculptures by Emily Trick. Driesbach's "Moonlight Cocktails are the Thing" will be presented Jan. 13 through Feb. 22 in the Robert L. Ringel Gallery in Stewart Center, and "Emily Trick: Imagined, Desired, and the Factual" will be shown from Jan. 14 through Feb. 22 in the new Fountain Gallery in downtown Lafayette.

W-2 forms coming in mid-January, 1042-S forms in mid-February

Payroll Services plans to mail 2013 W-2 forms in mid-January to all employees' current addresses. The Internal Revenue Service will begin processing tax returns on Jan. 31.

Memo: New program to assist Purdue innovators, entrepreneurs

This memo regarding a new faculty-led program that will provide guidance for Purdue innovators and entrepreneurs is from Dan Hasler, president and chief entrepreneurial officer for the Purdue Research Foundation, and Alan Rebar, senior associate vice president for research at Purdue and executive director of Discovery Park.

Foster Award to recognize contributions to K-12 STEM education

The Office of the Provost is seeking nominations for the new Chris A. Foster Award, which will annually recognize Purdue faculty members' contributions to K-12 science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in Indiana. Nominations are due Feb. 21.

Weight Watchers offering open houses, January sign-up

Purdue's Weight Watchers at Work program will be hosting noon-hour open houses Tuesday (Jan. 14) and Thursday (Jan. 16) for employees to learn about the program and join it if they wish.

Panel discussion to focus on diversity in grants

The College of Science Faculty Committee for Diversity on Jan. 28 will present the interactive panel "DIG IT!: Diversity in Grants Improves Them!" covering how diversity as part of broader impacts can improve grant proposals. An RSVP by Tuesday (Jan. 14) is requested.

Mileage rate change for Purdue business travel

The IRS recently announced new standard mileage rates when using a personal vehicle for business reasons. The change is effective for travel on or after Jan. 1.

Business@Purdue News is making changes to its mailing list practices following reports of readers either not receiving or receiving multiple copies of the e-newsletter. The changes are expected to fix the problems, and readers will not need to resubscribe.

Northwestern Avenue garage west exit closing most of today

The Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage exit onto Northwestern Avenue will be closed from about 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today (Jan. 10) to facilitate window glass replacement, Physical Facilities has announced. Motorists should use the exit onto Grant Street instead.
