Chantal Levesque-Bristol, through the Center for Instructional Excellence (CIE), has been helping the University create a culture that fosters instructional excellence and students' academic success since February 2012. As CIE's director, Levesque-Bristol leads her staff in providing West Lafayette campus faculty with an array of tools to transform their academic courses into dynamic, learning-oriented experiences.
Faculty and staff news
Once again, this summer will see a variety of construction activities both on and around the West Lafayette campus. Faculty, staff, students and visitors are expected to exercise caution in areas where work is taking place.
Weekly "Coffee Break Consultations" with ITaP Research Computing (RCAC) staff are informal meetups with benefits for new and experienced high-performance computing users or faculty, staff and students just thinking about adding the tool to their research toolbox.
Discovery Park is launching an internal search for the director of the Global Sustainability Institute (GSI). Details on the search are available in a PDF file. Questions about the search should be directed to Karen Plaut, search committee chair, at kplaut@purdue.edu.
The 2013 Richard A. Hadley APSAC Professional Development Series presentation on May 22 will focus on ways to help improve students' academic success at Purdue.
On May 23 during Spring Fling, the Purdue University Retirees Association (PURA) once again will sponsor a food drive to benefit surrounding communities.
An upgrade to the PUID card access software, which operates campus doors, dining plans and the BoilerExpress debit program, is planned for today through Wednesday (May 13-15) for the West Lafayette campus. During that time, customers will not be able to use their BoilerExpress accounts, and the Card Services Office will not be able to issue new or replacement cards for students, faculty and staff.
"Thumbs Up" gives faculty and staff the chance to recognize others on campus for a job well done.

The ninth-ranked Purdue women's golf team has advanced to its 14th consecutive NCAA Championships under head coach Devon Brouse with a team total of 860, earning a second-place finish at the NCAA West Regional in Stanford, Calif.
