Purdue Profiles: Pamela Nave

Pamela Nave fell in love with music as a 3-year-old, when she became fascinated by the popping sounds she could create with a punctured drum set. Now, as associate professor of bands and percussion, she works to foster a passion for music in Purdue students as the head of the percussion department and director of several percussion-based groups.

Campus welcome reception for President Daniels set for today

Purdue employees are invited to help welcome President Mitch Daniels at a welcome reception from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today (Jan. 22) in the Ballrooms of Purdue Memorial Union. Usual work attire is appropriate. All staff are invited to attend in paid status at the approval of their supervisor.

WorkLife Programs services to integrate with new Center for Healthy Living

Services provided by WorkLife Programs will be consolidated into the Center for Healthy Living when it opens in late February. Most WorkLife Programs staff will become employees of the center. Mindy Paulet, WorkLife Programs manager, will continue to work for Human Resources and will serve as Purdue's interface with the Center for Healthy Living, among other duties.

Faculty, staff feedback sought on campus energy use

Faculty and staff are invited to share their views on campus energy use as part of a Council for Manager Development (CMD) project to develop a green office toolkit.

Food security center sets Borlaug program information session

The Purdue Center for Global Food Security (PCGFS) will hold an information session Thursday (Jan. 24) for graduate students and faculty to outline opportunities through the U.S. Borlaug Fellows in Global Food Security Program.

MLK celebration

MLK: Clothing Drive

The Office of Multicultural Programs in the College of Pharmacy is sponsoring a clothing and "Fruit of the Loom" drive through Jan. 31 as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. birthday celebration. Collection boxes are centrally located in the Heine Pharmacy Building. Donations will go to "It's My Closet" at Lafayette Jefferson High School. Donate clothing of any size.
