group marks 25 years

A group that meets regularly to discuss the great things happening at Purdue is celebrating its 25th year in existence this semester. A typical lunch meeting, members say, mixes personal updates, a healthy dose of good-natured ribbing and of course plenty of positive comments about Purdue. The group has met for lunch at some of campus' most iconic locations, including at the 50-yard line of Ross-Ade Stadium.

Deadline extended for spring IMPACT cohort applications

Purdue's IMPACT initiative is extending the application deadline for its spring 2013 cohort until Nov. 16. The extension is due to interest generated by the video message presented by acting President Tim Sands on IMPACT, which may be viewed at www.purdue.edu/president/video/changingclassroom.

Purdue United Way Campaign seeking greater support

Purdue's 2012 United Way campaign is looking for a rush in participation to help it reach its goal of $745,000, with just five work days left until all pledge cards are due.

Variety of resources can help employees in benefits enrollment

Human Resources and the companies that administer Purdue's benefits offer a number of tools and resources to help employees understand their benefit options and make informed choices for 2013.

Today's benefit enrollment events

Today (Nov. 8), an Enrollment Overview presentation will be held at 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Ross-Ade Stadium, Kissel Conference Room. For a schedule of live sessions and additional help during benefits open enrollment, visit www.purdue.edu/hr/Benefits/enroll.html. Open enrollment ends at midnight on Nov. 16.

Grad students encouraged to be part of research fair

Graduate students are invited to apply to make poster presentations at the coming Next Generation Scholars Research Fair for local seventh- and eighth-graders. Applications including a brief abstract are due at end of day Sunday (Nov. 11).

Study: Farm fatalities dropped in 2011; no child deaths

There were fewer reports of Indiana farm-related deaths in 2011 than the previous year, including none involving children for the first time in 13 years, according to a new Purdue report.
