Governor appoints new Purdue trustees

Gov. Mitch Daniels on Tuesday announced the appointment of Bruce White and Miranda McCormack to the Purdue Board of Trustees. White's appointment is effective July 1 and will expire June 30, 2014. McCormack, the new student trustee, will serve a term that begins on July 1 and expires on June 30, 2013. Read more...

Motorcycle safety

Purdue, West Lafayette strive to raise awareness about motorcycle safety

Professor Marifran Mattson, President France A. Córdova and West Lafayette Mayor John R. Dennis discuss motorcycle safety at the unveiling of a new motorcycle caution safety sign on University Street. The sign, designed by students who are involved in the Motorcycle Safety @ Purdue campaign, is located between Fourth and Fifth Streets across from a designated motorcycle parking area. The sign was unveiled Wednesday (June 8) at an event that also featured speakers from American Bikers Aimed Towards Education. Undergraduate and graduate students involved in the safety campaign, as well as Mattson's current Small Group and Team Communication class (pictured), continue to research motorcycle safety and evaluate the effectiveness of the campaign.
