Virtual intensive care unit created in faculty, ITaP partnership supports research and training
When a physician is treating a patient in an intensive care unit, nurses are more than partners. They're also human safety checklists. Are the right medicines and equipment on hand? Has the patient consented to the procedure? Did the doctor wash his hands? Purdue nursing students are testing a new way to learn that role -- a virtual intensive care unit, or ICU, an immersive 3-D environment created at ITaP's Envision Center for Data Perceptualization. Gulyanamitta named Big Ten Player of the Year
The Purdue women's golf team was highly represented once again when the Big Ten Conference announced the season awards on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Numa Gulyanamitta, the 2011 Big Ten Championships medalist and Mary Fossum Award winner was named Big Ten Player of the Year. It is Gulyanamitta's first player of the year award and the fifth in six years for Purdue. Read more...
