Veteran closes in on Purdue doctorate
As Purdue celebrates Veterans Day today and honors all those who have served in the U.S. armed forces, the University especially notes its own Boilermaker veterans such as graduate student Udit Minocha, who served twice in Iraq and is now months away from receiving his Ph.D. in food science.

Union to honor veterans with Purdue ties
The Purdue Student Union Board will present its Veterans Day Tribute at 11 a.m. today (Nov. 11) in the Great Hall, Purdue Memorial Union. The tribute will include "Presentation of the Colors" by the Tri-service Color Guard, the "Pledge of Allegiance," the national anthem and songs sung by the Purduettes, three speeches by local veterans, a table of remembrance, a moment of silence, and three memorial volleys to end the event. Nobel Prize winners meet on campus
Purdue chemistry professor Ei-ichi Negishi (right), this year's co-repicient of the Nobel Prize in chemistry, and Dr. Aaron Ciechanover, who shared the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 2004, discuss the events surrounding Nobel Week in Stockholm following a lab tour in Wetherill Hall on Wednesday.
