Purdue Today schedule for semester break

Purdue Today will reduce its publishing schedule during semester break. It will be published daily through Dec. 12, then periodically as needed the weeks of Dec. 15, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29. Purdue Today will resume daily publication on Jan. 5.

Would you like to name a bat species this holiday season for a family member or friend, securing their immortality? Purdue is auctioning the naming rights to several new species discovered by researcher John Bickham, a Purdue professor of forestry and natural resources who specializes in genetic studies of fish and wildlife, including biodiversity and biosystematics. Reward offered for tips leading to return of missing portraits

A Lafayette man who is a 1988 Purdue graduate is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the return of portraits that are missing from the Civil Engineering Building, University police announced Thursday (Dec. 4.) The oil paintings of Marietta S. and Karl H. Kettelhut, a couple who were Purdue graduates and donors to the University, were reported missing Nov. 14. More

Provost and former agriculture dean recognized for rural service

Randy Woodson
Randy Woodson, Purdue provost and the former Glenn W. Sample Dean of Agriculture, is this year's winner of the Frederick L. Hovde Award of Excellence in Educational Service to Rural People of Indiana. The award, which honors Purdue staff with a record of outstanding achievement and service to rural Indiana, was announced Friday (Dec. 5) at the Indiana Farm Bureau convention in Evansville. More
