Purdue to test emergency text messaging on Sept. 24

Purdue will launch research on the newest form of mass communication — text messaging — on Monday, Sept. 24. Researchers will send a text message to a broad cross section of campus at about 11:25 a.m. to analyze message speed and dependability. More than 7,200 have already signed up to receive the messages. Córdova to speak this week at national conference on future of space exploration

President France A. Córdova is among a list of speakers prominent in the U.S. space program who will headline a Sept. 19-21 event celebrating the nation's first 50 years in space. Córdova is an invited speaker during a Sept. 20 session on the future of space exploration at the event, called "50 Years in Space: Aerospace Conference Celebrating 50 Years of Space Technology. Engineering dean to meet with college clerical, service staff

Dean Leah Jamieson will meet with clerical and service staff from the College of Engineering at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept.18, in Room 1043, Forney Hall. Topics: What is the roll of clerical/service staff in strategic planning? How do clerical/service staff voice ideas and concerns to the dean?

PAA to host Boilermaker Tailgate at Minnesota

Purdue Alumni Association will present a Boilermaker tailgate for those football fans traveling to the Minnesota game on Sept. 22.
