Students tour Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, where the Real Madrid soccer team plays, and hear from Spanish management consultants about the business of managing soccer teams. They explore Spanish agribusiness with visits to local olive oil and wine producers who generously share their entrepreneurship journeys. They also visit museums, such as Museo del Prado and Museo Reina Sofia, where they meet with museum directors who discuss the role of marketing strategy in publicly-funded museums.
The study abroad experience gives Blanchard a chance apply skills learned in study abroad workshops. She incorporates global perspectives in addition to covering essential business topics. Course assignments encourage students to develop personal insight and apply their understanding of managerial economics in real-world international contexts, sharpening their ability to recognize and navigate cultural differences with professional settings.
