Purdue Master Gardener Program Spotlight: Hamilton County Master Gardener Association

The Hamilton County Master Gardener Association strives to promote the art, science, and pleasure of gardening in the community in cooperation with Purdue University and the Cooperative Extension Service of Hamilton County.

Our many activities include (click on the photo to see a larger image):

Maintain five public gardens at the 4-H Fairgrounds

  • AAS Flower Bed (Annuals)
  • AAS Veggies (surrounded by AAS Flowers)
  • Daylily & Iris
  • Native Bed
    • Year 1
    • Native Bed (Year 3 – 2003)
  • Parsons Patch (Perennials)

Design, install and continue to maintain public gardens

  • Roy O. Hadley Park (downtown Westfield)
  • Humane Society of Hamilton County (Noblesville)
  • Westfield Town Hall (Heirlooms)

Our members present the Library Series of Lectures

We offer college scholarships and GrowLab education grants in the local elementary schools, both funded by plant sales.

  • 2003 Barney Hobbs Scholarship Recipients

Staff the Voicemail Help Line at the Extension Office and provide speakers for community groups through the Speakers Bureau.
