The Hamilton County Master Gardeners are excited to announce their Annual Central Indiana Seed Swap Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 9am-3pm. Due to construction at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds this year’s Central Indiana Seed Swap will be held at the Tipton Fairgrounds – 1200 S Main St. Tipton, IN 46072. The seed swap is a free event open to the public. All levels of gardeners are welcome from garden dreamers to experts!
Hamilton County Gardeners host several expert speakers throughout the day covering a variety of gardening topics including the amazing Bevin Cohen, sharing his expertise on growing tomatoes. Kris Klug Heeter, the President of Indiana Nut and Fruit Growers Association (INFGA) and North American fruit Explorers (NAFEX), will talk about less common fruit and nuts grown in Indiana with a focus on Natives. Our third speaker (TBT) will cover some information about Master Gardeners including process of becoming one. Listen to a speaker to be entered into a prize raffle!
The swap also will have professional, knowledgeable seed vendors with a variety of premium quality seeds, including some hard-to-find heirloom varieties. Get them while they last!! Come visit the free seed tables and swap areas! Learn how to swap the seeds you saved for something new! Grab some of the free seeds offered by Hamilton County Master Gardeners. Learn how to clean and save the seeds from plants you grow! There will be food and merchandise vendors and a kids educational activity corner. Master Gardeners are on hand working the event to help you!
