Area 5 MG Leadership Roundtable

Master Gardeners from Area 5 who attended the MG Leadership Roundtable event on September 18th

County Master Gardener Coordinators in Area 5 (Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Monroe, Greene, and Sullivan Counties) organized the Area 5 Master Gardener Leadership Roundtable held on September 18, 2014 at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Brazil, IN.

Twenty-eight Purdue Master Gardeners from the 9 counties mentioned above and 6 County MG Coordinators gathered to share a meal (provided by the MG Coordinators), build relationships, enjoy interactive horticulture activities, and learn about the characteristics of an effective Master Gardener group from John Orick, Purdue Master Gardener State Coordinator. The purpose of the event was to bring Master Gardeners together to share ideas and encourage a spirit of collaboration across county lines.

Many thanks to the Master Gardeners who attended the event and to the MG Coordinators in Area 5 (Phil Cox, Sadie Davis, Jim Luzar, Lindy Miller, Amanda Smith, Jenna Smith, and Amy Thompson)!
