Purdue’s Language Learning and Meaning Acquisition (LLAMA) Lab Language and Cognitive studies language learning and development using behavioral, electrophysiological and eye-tracking techniques. Broadly speaking, our lab is interested in studying how we use our world experience and knowledge to learn language. Some recent topics of research have included
- How do individual differences in ability and experience affect the way we understand and learn language?
- How do children interpret sentences in everyday and novel situations?
- How do we learn words during reading and speech?
- How do our brains rapidly learn new words?
