Research Objectives

The primary objective of this study is to determine whether a thermal discharge from an oil refinery is causing an increased incidence of DELTs on fish. This study consists of three elements: an onsite thermal bioassay with fathead minnows, field collections and DELTs assessment, and fish health assessment.
