Giovanna is a Graduate Assistant for the Office of Engagement. She supports the office with operational activities and database management, including organizing and maintaining engagement data and information systems.

Giovanna is a Ph.D. student at Purdue University, focusing on Epidemiology, Health Education, and One Health. Her research interests include zoonotic disease prevention, public health education, and understanding how educational interventions can improve knowledge and disease-prevention practices. Her current research includes developing and evaluating educational approaches to communicate disease prevention concepts to different audiences.

Before beginning her doctoral studies, Giovanna earned her degree in Veterinary Medicine in Brazil. As a veterinarian, she developed a passion for outreach and community engagement while working in a mobile surgical center serving remote and underserved communities.

In her free time, Giovanna enjoys spending time with her family and pets and exploring the area.
