What it is

Managed by the Office of Engagement, this pilot program brings together community businesses and organizations and engagement staff to uncover current partnerships with the university – and identify opportunities to further leverage additional Purdue resources for community and economic development. The program is modeled after the business retention & expansion visits done by local economic developers to understand the current state of local businesses.

How it Works

Engagement staff will meet 1:1 with community businesses and organizations for semi-structured interviews to allow a frank and honest conversation on whether and how the partners have engaged with Purdue, the impact or opportunities to improve existing engagement, and what upcoming needs and opportunities are there to engage with Purdue.

Why it Matters

The Office of Engagement is tasked with translating Purdue’s brain trust into community impact and community needs into opportunities for Purdue faculty, student, and staff partnership. P3 aims to continue to build trust and relationships with community organizations and businesses by meeting 1:1 to ensure community partners are meaningfully engaged and acknowledged. Our conversations will gather information on community engagement, experiential education, and research opportunities for Purdue and our community partners.
