In-person class meetings canceled today due to snow; nonessential employees should not report to campus

Purdue announced Thursday (Feb. 3) that due to continuing weather concerns, all in-person class meetings on the West Lafayette campus should continue to be held online if possible or canceled today (Feb. 4) and that all nonessential personnel should remain working remotely if possible. Nonessential employees should not report to campus.

The new episode of “This Is Purdue” is celebrating Black Boilermakers' excellence with stories from three Purdue alumni who have made significant giant leaps: Amber Johnson (PhD 2019, computer science), Sydney Simone (BA 2019, communication) and Curtis Baylor (BSIE 1972). Listeners will hear why this computer engineer, TV reporter and Army veteran value their experience on campus, and what they’re doing to continue to support and grow the Black community at Purdue. Photo gallery: Snowy scenes on the West Lafayette campus

Physical Facilities staff have worked around the clock since early Wednesday morning to keep Purdue's main streets and sidewalks clear. The West Lafayette campus received about 12 inches of snow Wednesday and Thursday (Feb. 2-3). A new photo gallery, which will be updated throughout the weekend, shows this work and other snowy scenes.

Washington, D.C., attorney Kenneth R. Feinberg joined President Mitch Daniels on Tuesday (Feb. 1) at Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse for the Presidential Lecture Series. Feinberg discussed his remarkable work the past 35 years as the nation’s leading mediator in the most complex disputes and compensation claim cases. A video of the event is available.
