'This Is Purdue': Behind the scenes at Boiler Gold Rush

The new episode of "This Is Purdue" podcast goes behind the scenes at Purdue’s largest Boiler Gold Rush event yet. Craig Johnson, director of orientation programs at Purdue, talks about how BGR – formerly known as CORN Camp - originated and how the team continues to evolve this massive event year after year. Purdue awarding prizes for employee COVID-19 vaccination incentive

Math education professor Rachael Kenney thinks her personal health won when she got the COVID-19 vaccine. For doing her part in helping Protect Purdue, she also was among the 50 Purdue faculty and staff members winning prizes for getting the vaccine. Winners were invited to campus events this week to find out their specific prize. Kenney brought her dog Toby for the surprise reveal, where she won a pair of dining gift cards. The full list of winners will appear in Wednesday's issue.

Purdue football to kick off season with home game against Oregon State

Head coach Jeff Brohm and the Purdue football team are set to kick off the 500th game at Ross-Ade Stadium with their season opener at 7 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 4) against Oregon State. This will be the first game back with full spectator attendance since the 2019 season. Information on tickets, digital entry, game notes and more is available on the Purdue Athletics website.
