Engineers are building a fridge that works in zero gravity and upside down

For astronauts to go on long missions to the moon or Mars, they need a refrigerator. But today’s fridges aren’t designed to work in zero gravity – or upside down if oriented that way when a spacecraft lands on another planet. A team of engineers from Purdue, Air Squared Inc. and Whirlpool Corp. is working on a fridge for zero gravity.

Purdue students earn prestigious Goldwater scholarships

Purdue students Justin Copenhaver, Jack Dorman, and Dalton Stanley have earned the Goldwater Scholarship, the nation’s preeminent scholarship for undergraduates in mathematics, natural sciences or engineering. Congress established the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation in 1986.
