Purdue is offering guidelines and best practices to help alleviate some of the challenges associated with managing remote workloads and participating in web-based (video) business meetings.

Is that building done yet? Researchers test sensors that could speed up construction schedules

How long it takes to construct a building depends in large part on when the concrete of each floor is strong enough to take on loads. Purdue engineers have developed sensors that could safely speed up a construction timeline by determining concrete strength directly onsite in real time. Purdue’s Engineering and Polytechnic Gateway Complex is a test bed for the new technology.

New transistor design disguises computer chip hardware from hackers

A hacker can reproduce a circuit on a chip by discovering what key transistors are doing in a circuit – but not if the transistor “type” is undetectable. Purdue engineers have demonstrated a way to disguise which transistor is which by building them out of a sheet-like material called black phosphorus.
