Don't be duped by tax-related phishing, other scams

ITaP security professionals are reminding faculty, staff and students to be on the lookout for email and telephone scams targeting unsuspecting taxpayers. Just like Purdue, the IRS will never send emails or text messages requesting that an individual respond with personal information. An unexpected email or phone call purporting to be from the IRS is most likely a scam.

Did You Know?: Purdue University seal

The Purdue University seal has been around for almost 130 years. The current seal, designed by Al Gowan in 1968, is used only on official University documents such as diplomas, letters of acceptance and communication from the Board of Trustees and the president. Today's Did You Know? takes a look at the evolution of the seal and the people who took part in the designs.
