Purdue Moves: World-Changing ResearchThis week's highlights feature accomplishments in world-changing research, particularly in the key initiative areas of plant sciences and drug discovery, and with additional focus on commercialization. Purdue 16th worldwide for universities granted U.S. patentsOne important aspect of research is its potential for application and commercialization. Part of the commercialization process requires obtaining patents. Purdue is ranked 16th in the world among universities granted U.S. utility patents in 2014, according to a new report released by the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO).
