NBIA award

Purdue Technology Centers, Purdue Foundry honored

The National Business Incubation Association has awarded the Purdue Technology Centers and Purdue Foundry the 2014 Incubator Network of the Year award. This is the highest distinction awarded by the association. The honor was presented at the NBIA's 28th International Conference in Business Incubation. The technology centers are located in the four-site Purdue Research Park network throughout the state of Indiana: West Lafayette, Indianapolis, Merrillville and New Albany.

Faculty, staff invited to Spring Fling today

Spring Fling, the annual appreciation event for faculty, staff, graduate student staff and retirees, is set for 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today (May 22) on and around Purdue Memorial Mall.

* The Purdue Farmers Market will not be held today, but will return on May 29.

Second application to rid campus of gypsy moths planned for Friday morning

The second of three aerial applications to eradicate the invasive gypsy moth from the West Lafayette campus is scheduled for Friday (May 23). As with the previous application, this scheduled application could be postponed if weather conditions are inadequate.

Memo: Xerox to hold WebCRD/Ariba training sessions

This memo from Rob Wynkoop, managing director in the Office of the Executive Vice President for Business and Finance, Treasurer, is regarding WebCRD/Ariba training sessions being held by Xerox in May and June to cover the new job submission process. Purdue employees who order from Xerox as well as department approvers are encouraged to attend. Xerox established management of Purdue's printing services operations on Feb 3.

The Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee on May 13 elected Peggy MacNorton vice chair for 2014-15.

Deadline for CSSAC applications fast approaching

Information has been mailed to clerical and service staff about applying for membership on the Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee. The application deadline is May 30.

Purdue Postdoctoral Association dinner set for June 5

The Purdue Postdoctoral Association is inviting all at Purdue to its annual dinner at 5:30 p.m. June 5. Reservations are needed by May 29.

Cholesterol management program to begin June 6

A new Center for Healthy Living program will help participants develop an action plan to manage their high cholesterol.

ENAD Demolition Furniture Sale set for May 27-28

Purdue Surplus will hold the ENAD Demolition Furniture Sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 27-28 in the Engineering Administration Building.

Annual retirement luncheon coming in June

The annual retirement recognition luncheon for Purdue employees will be June 4. The luncheon will honor employees retiring July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014. Deadline to register is Friday (May 23).

Purdue students set record for summer study abroad

Purdue will see its largest number of students studying abroad this summer thanks to support from Purdue Moves. This summer, 1,003 undergraduate students will be studying in 123 programs in 42 countries. In 2013, 735 students participated in summer study abroad programs.

Versyp awarded contract extension

Morgan Burke, Purdue's athletics director, announced Tuesday (May 20) that women's basketball head coach Sharon Versyp has agreed to a contract extension that secures her presence on the Boilermaker sideline through the 2019-20 season.

Bunch, Mostert earn Big Ten awards

The Big Ten Conference announced its outdoor track season awards on Tuesday (May 20). Dani Bunch was named the women's Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year and the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships. Raheem Mostert was named the men's Big Ten Track Athlete of the Championships.
