President's Forum

President's Forum focuses on future of campus planning

Ken Sandel, director of physical and capital planning, discussed the West Lafayette campus master plan during the President's Forum on Thursday (Feb. 13). Sandel talked about the history of campus master planning, outlined the University's current master plan and connected Purdue Moves and other future developments to the plan, including the State Street and Third Street corridor development and the new U.S. 231 corridor. The presentation also highlighted efforts to enhance the quality of place on the West Lafayette campus.

Provost's Office seeking nominations for Morrill Awards

The Office of the Provost is seeking nominations for the third annual Morrill Awards, which recognize West Lafayette faculty members' outstanding career achievements. The deadline to submit nominations is March 17.

Trask Innovation Fund application deadline set for March 14

Applications for the Trask Innovation Fund are being accepted through March 14 from eligible Purdue inventors who are prepared to advance Purdue technologies toward commercialization.

Winter walking: Tips to avoid slip and fall injuries

Radiological and Environmental Management continues to urge employees to walk safely as they venture out this winter. Each winter Purdue employees experience slips and falls due to snowy and icy conditions, and this winter has been especially hazardous due to the unusual weather conditions.

Two-day training session will cover InfoPath, a SharePoint-compatible, forms-building tool

Individuals who would like to learn more about InfoPath 200, a forms-building tool, may sign up for a two-day training session in March or April. The class will teach participants how to create various types of forms that can be emailed, used to collect data to store in SharePoint and used to collect data to store in an SQL database.

Highway maintenance crews from East Chicago to the Ohio River turn to custom-created forecasts by Purdue students that provide the detailed information needed to plan efficient and effective counterattacks against dangerous winter precipitation.
