In the Spotlight
Hidden in the basement of Knoy Hall, the D. Dorsey Moss Construction Lab gives building construction management students the opportunity to assemble hands-on construction projects. The construction lab includes a room for construction, a computer lab, a conference room, a lab to test soils and concrete and storage areas.
Students in Construction Materials and Methods, a class for freshmen, build one wooden structure, one steel structure, one concrete structure and one masonry structure as well as concrete walls in the construction lab.

One place to see the burgeoning ecosystem for moving Purdue ideas to market in action is from 8 to 9 a.m. Fridays at the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship in Discovery Park.
Cheryl Files became chair and 10 new members began their terms on the Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee for 2013-14 during the group's Sept. 10 meeting.

On Tuesday (Sept. 24), President Mitch Daniels provided the keynote address at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Business Horizon Retreat in Washington, D.C., focusing on entitlement and tax reform, pro-growth strategies and the need for government investment in fundamental scientific research. Following the event, Daniels spoke with FreeEnterprise.com, a U.S. Chamber of Commerce digital platform, on the same topic.

Purdue sports
Members of the Purdue football team will meet and greet their fellow citizens of Lafayette and West Lafayette as they walk across the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge at Friday's (Sept. 27) Boiler Bridge Walk.
Game notes are available to preview the Purdue-Northern Illinois football matchup for Homecoming at noon Saturday (Sept. 28) at Ross-Ade Stadium.
