Every year, the United Way is in need of volunteers to serve their local communities. Sheryl Willison is one such person whose passion for helping others has led her to serve as a senior chair for the United Way campaign at Purdue. Willison is an administrative assistant for Discovery Park, a component of the Office of the Vice President for Research.
Faculty and staff news
The Purdue community is invited to join President Mitch Daniels for a President's Forum on Oct. 3 in Purdue Memorial Union, South Ballroom. The forum, scheduled for 8-9:30 a.m., will feature Daniels along with panelists who are leading two of the new West Lafayette campus initiatives.
All current Purdue employees will be receiving a required Health Care Reform notice this month, but benefits-eligible employees who plan to be covered by a Purdue medical plan in 2014 will not need to take any action related to the notice.

The next phase of Purdue Cardinal Community Hoops is about to begin as the first court restoration nears completion and becomes ready for action.
Purdue's Office of Engagement and Indy Partnership held an information summit Wednesday (Sept. 18) in Indianapolis for Indianapolis-area economic development officials and their staffs.

Intercollegiate Athletics on Wednesday (Sept. 18) announced mobile ticket delivery as a service to fans. Tickets are emailed immediately after purchase in two possible formats -- a mobile PDF or an iPhone passbook ticket. They include security features and are optimized for display on a smartphone.
