Registration open for recognition luncheon
Information for the clerical and service staff recognition luncheon on Dec. 7 -- including how faculty, staff and others can show appreciation for an honoree by attending -- is provided in a PDF file and online at www.conf.purdue.edu/cs. The event will honor clerical and service members who in 2010 have completed years of service totaling 10, 15, 20, 25, etc. Deadline for registration is Friday (Nov. 19). Attendees are encouraged to register online.

Purdue volunteers pick apples to help needy
Matt McFarland, innovation strategy manager for the Office of Technology Commercialization, was one of about a dozen people on Monday (Nov. 15) picking Purdue apples to donate to Lafayette Urban Ministry, an
organization formed in 1972 to help the needy. The office is working with Jules Janick, the James Troop Distinguished Professor of Horticulture in the College of Agriculture, to commercialize Purdue apples. Purdue is part of the PRI Apples Breeding Program with Rutgers and the University of Illinois. Purdue has 25 varieties of apples that are grown around the world in countries including Chile, New Zealand, Canada, France, Turkey and South Africa.
Purdue, WL to dedicate new boathouse

Student organizations to be deactivated
Purdue's Student Activities and Organization Office has announced the list of organizations and clubs whose records have become outdated. Within two weeks of an election, student organizations and clubs are required to report officer changes to the SAO office. Organizations failing to update their election report will be deactivated.
