Summer construction projects to affect traffic

Several construction projects will cause vehicular and pedestrian traffic disruptions this summer on the West Lafayette campus. This list (with links to maps) from Physical Facilities includes the major construction disruptions, which will begin on or after Monday, May 12. Travelers are asked to be alert and to be patient as staff and contractors work to complete the projects before the start of the fall semester. More

OnePurdue: myPurdue demos and other online resources available for faculty, advisers

The myPurdue Web portal will offer many new online self-services after new student systems are released in July. To help introduce system users to myPurdue, several informational resources have been added to the OnePurdue Web site, including video demonstrations, and recordings and slides from past presentations and a town hall meeting. VP for governmental relations announces retirement

Terry D. Strueh, who has led Purdue's governmental relations efforts since 1999, announced today (May 7) that he will retire from the University on June 15.

As vice president for governmental relations, Strueh is the University's chief liaison with state and federal officials. He served as vice president for state relations from 1999 to 2001, when his responsibilities expanded to include greater emphasis on federal initiatives. More

ITaP's Distance Education Incentive Awards program will kick off with a faculty intensive workshop, scheduled for this Thursday and Friday, May 8-9. More

OnePurdue moving to Cognos as new reporting tool

Purdue has adopted Cognos as a common reporting tool for the new Banner student systems going into production this year, the SAP human resources and financial software that went online in 2007, and Advancement databases. While the initial emphasis will be on using Cognos to report against these systems' data, the Cognos tools also can be used to generate reports against departmental databases. More

Scholars honor Purdue historian with publication

A Purdue historian will be honored by his colleagues and former students with a publication and three conference sessions devoted to his lifetime contributions in the field of medieval studies.The career and scholarship of John J. Contreni, the Justin S. Morrill Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, will be celebrated at the May 8-11 International Congress on Medieval Studies at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich.
