Wade Utility Plant to conduct noisy steam blows

The Wade Utility Plant will conduct high pressure steam blows to clean the inside of new steam piping. These steam blows are planned for today and Friday, Jan. 17 and 18, as well as Jan. 22 and 23. These blows are necessary to assure cleanliness of the new steam pipe installation as part of the Boiler #2 upgrades. The sounds will consist of periodic loud "pops" which will be followed by a progressively louder rushing noise, similar to the sounds of a jet airplane taking off. Each blow will last from 3 minutes up to 10 minutes or so. There will be a series of these blows each day.
