PMU celebrates opening of Union Commons

Mariachi Zelaya, an Indianapolis band including musicians from Nicaragua, Mexico, Colombia and Puerto Rico, entertained crowds during Thursday's (Nov. 15) grand opening celebration of Union Commons, the newly redesigned dining area inside Purdue Memorial Union. The six venues - Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen, Lemongrass, La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill, Flatbreads, Zia Juice and Urban Market - are now open for business. Those attending the grand opening were able to sample a variety of items from the menus of the new restaurants. The Union Commons renovation was a $7 million project.
