Top science journalists to be honored at Purdue Nov. 7-9

Purdue will honor leading science journalists from around the world Nov. 7-9 during the second annual Science Journalism Laureates Program.

The laureates will participate in a public town hall meeting from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and will address the campus during a convocation at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8. Both events will be in the Lawson Computer Science Building commons and are free and open to the public. More

Holiday spending may be up, but not enough to make retailers merry

Award-winning blues artist to perform

Fruteland Jackson
Purdue's Black Cultural Center Library will present a performance from acoustic blues recording artist Fruteland Jackson on Nov. 16.

All About the Blues begins at 7 p.m. in Stewart Center, Room 314. It is free and open to the public. Jackson created the award-winning Blues in the Schools program that teaches the history of the blues to young students throughout the country. More

Vibraphonist Stefon Harris to perform Ellington-inspired works

Composer, bandleader and vibraphonist Stefon Harris will pay tribute to jazz legend Duke Ellington as he performs "African Tarantella … Dances with Duke," with his nine-piece band at 8 p.m. Nov. 17 in Loeb Playhouse. More
