What if an unexpected expense comes up, such as medical bills, appliance repairs,
or car repairs? It may be difficult to find the money for these expenses and cause
stress in your life. Having an emergency fund or savings account set aside for these
situations can help.
There are also expenses that we know are coming, but don’t plan for such as birthdays,
holidays, back-to-school expenses and car insurance. If we don’t set money aside
for these expenses, when they happen, we try to find the money and some other bills
may not be paid. Knowing when and how much occasional expenses are is the first
step in being prepared.
