Student Life is You Award

The Student Life is You (SLISU) Award is a University employee award program that recognizes outstanding employee contributions in the following areas:

  • Student Learning
  • Leadership Development
  • Inclusion
  • Stewardship
  • Unity

An employee can be nominated for any of the five principles of the SLISU Award anytime throughout the calendar year. Nominations submitted will be good for that entire calendar year. Preference will be given to nominations in that period. However, consideration will be given to previous nominations within a calendar year if the selection committee deems it necessary. Other program components include:

  • An employee may receive one award per calendar year.
  • Award selections will happen quarterly in a calendar year.
  • One M/P and one support staff member will be selected each quarter, with the possibility of a third winner for the "Excellence" award. The Excellence award will be given to an employee who has demonstrated all five principles at one time.
  • Each quarterly winner will receive $750 and a certificate. The winner of the Excellence award will receive $1,000 and a plaque. Monetary awards will be "grossed up" so the winner receives the full dollar amount on their paycheck. Awards will be presented by the Vice Provost and the recipients' supervisors at a small reception, and all winners will be featured in a video for the VPSL website and the State of the Division event.
  • The Student Life Operations Committee will select award recipients from submitted nominations.
