Speaker to discuss the effects of war and political conflict on youth
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - |
The talk, "Making Sense and No Sense of War: Issues of Meaning and Identity in Youths' Experiences with Political Conflict," will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Stewart Center, Room 218.
Barber, director of the Center for the Study of Youth and Political Violence at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, is internationally recognized for his research on this subject, which has focused on youth from Palestine and Bosnia.
The lecture is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. To register, call 800-535-7303, 765-494-7890 or e-mail cfsalums@purdue.edu. Registration ends Oct. 30, however, walk-ins are still welcome to come the day of the lecture.
The College of Consumer and Family Sciences established the Eva Goble Lecture Series in 1992 to honor the contributions of Eva Goble, who served as dean from 1967-1973. The annual lecture is held in the fall.
