Archives & Special Collections resolution
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Whereas, Purdue University wishes to preserve those items that document and comprise the historical record of the University;Whereas, the items comprising the historical record are scattered throughout the University in varying states of preservation and access, and are in jeopardy of being lost;
Whereas, the Division of Archives and Special Collections of the Purdue University Libraries has the expertise to steward the safekeeping of these historical records;
I hereby resolve that the Division of Archives and Special Collections of the Purdue University Libraries (or its successors) shall be charged with the responsibility to steward and preserve the items that document and comprise the historical record of Purdue University.
Further resolved that the Head of the Division of Archives and Special Collections, or such other qualified individual as may from time-to-time be designated by the Dean of Libraries, be designated as the University Archivist.
