Scholarships offered at Purdue's College of Technology in Kokomo

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Students who are planning to attend Purdue University's College of Technology at Kokomo during the 2008-09 academic year are encouraged to apply for the location's scholarships by Feb. 15.

Those applying for the scholarships must be high school graduates with a B or above grade-point average and be admitted to Purdue's Kokomo location. Continuing students must have an overall grade-point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Some scholarships have higher or specific qualification requirements.

The following scholarships are available to full-time students who maintain at least 12 credit hours, or part-time students who maintain at least six credit hours a semester at Purdue's Kokomo location:

* Richard H. and Marian E. Blacklidge Scholarship, $3,000

* Brian Clemens Scholarship, $500

* Delphi Delco Electronics Systems Scholarship, $2,000

* Harris Bank Scholarship, $1,000

* Gala Scholarship, $1,000

* Indiana University Kokomo General Motors Scholarship, $1,000

* Glen and Jeanné Harland Scholarship,   $3,000

* John and Hilda Hingst Scholarship, $1,500 - $3,000

* John Milner Memorial Scholarship, $1,000

* Purdue Kokomo 400 Club Scholarship, $500 - $4,000

* Marnie Cole Renard Scholarship, $1,500

* Security Federal Savings Bank  Scholarship, $1,000

* Thomas and Rosemary Sheehan Scholarship, $1,000.

Students interested in applying for a scholarship should download an application online at https://www.tech.purdue.edu/kokomo. Students should submit an application, along with a transcript and three letters of recommendation to the Purdue Student Services Office, 2300 S. Washington St., P.O. Box 9003, Kokomo, IN 46904-9003.

Purdue College of Technology at Kokomo offers programs in computer graphics technology, computer and information technology, electrical and computer engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, and organizational leadership and supervision.
