December 3, 2007 Purdue names director for Discovery Park's entrepreneurship centerWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
In addition to directing the center, Kahn will be a professor in the Department of Industrial Technology. He succeeds interim director Alan Rebar, who remains executive director of Discovery Park. Kahn's teaching and research interests concern product development, product management, and demand forecasting of current and new products. He is an associate professor of marketing and the Stokely Scholar in the Department of Marketing and Logistics at the University of Tennessee. He also is co-founding director of the University of Tennessee's Sales Forecasting Management Forum, which specializes in education and research involving market analysis and sales forecasting. The author of two books, "Product Planning Essentials" and "New Product Forecasting: An Applied Approach," Kahn is the editor of the "PDMA Handbook on New Product Development" and has published in a variety of journals. Kahn has bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech universities, respectively, and a doctorate in marketing from Virginia Tech. The Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship leads Purdue's Kauffman Campuses Initiative for fostering entrepreneurship programs on campus to create an entrepreneurial culture for student and faculty ideas and ventures.
