October 29, 2007 Purdue Student Union Board, center to offer haunted hotel, mansionWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - People looking for a good scare on Halloween will have the choice of two haunted experiences at Purdue University. The Purdue Student Union Board will have its Haunted Hotel from 7-11:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 31) in the Union Commons.Earlier in the day, the Envision Center for Data Perceptualization will offer 10-minute tours of its virtual Haunted Mansion from 1-5 p.m. in Stewart Center, Room B001. Both events are free and open to the public. Visitors to the Haunted Hotel will be welcomed by a bellhop in the lobby and then led through other haunted hotel rooms. Locations on the tour include the bedroom, laundry room and ballroom. The tour is suitable for all ages, but parents may want to supervise younger children, said Agnes Blachut, director of the Haunted Hotel. The Envision Center's haunted house will use computer technology to offer a virtual tour of a mansion that is suitable for all ages. This is the second year the Purdue Student Union Board has offered a haunted experience; last year's theme was Escape from Union Prison.
