Late-night event to offer fun prior to Purdue football game

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University students will have a chance to unwind from 10 p.m. Friday (Oct. 19) to 2 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 20) in advance of the Purdue vs. Iowa football game. Purdue After Dark Tailgate - Hammer the Hawkeyes will take place at the Recreational Sports Center. The event is free and open to Purdue students only and is sponsored by the Purdue Student Union Board, Recreational Sports Center, Positive Educational Experiences for Purdue Students and the Student Wellness Office

"Purdue After Dark Tailgate has become a tradition each fall as we cheer our team to victory," said Jena Naylor, project leader for the Purdue Student Union Board recreation committee. "The Purdue After Dark events are a way for students to have a fun and exciting time on a Friday night, but in a safe and positive way."

A variety of activities will be on hand to keep students amused, including inflatable play structures, a field goal kicking game called Kick-X, crafts, tailgate games and flag football. Disk jockey John Jakob will provide music, and free food and prizes also will be offered.
