College of Technology at Indianapolis and Lafayette names new director
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Jon C. Aull was recently selected as director of the Purdue University College of Technology locations at Indianapolis and Lafayette.Aull oversees operations at the two locations, which serve the educational and work force training needs for 10 Indiana counties and includes a combined enrollment of nearly 300 students.
Aull most recently was an instructional technologist and director of the Center for Instructional Excellence at Wallace Community College in Dothan, Ala., where he was responsible for the management of the college's learning management systems.
He also has worked as an instructional technology adviser and coordinator for the Instructional Multimedia Group at Auburn University, a technology education instructor at Georgia Southern University, and a high school technology education teacher.
Aull received a bachelor's degree in aviation technology from Purdue in 1991 and a master's degree in technology education from Millersville University in 1998.
The College of Technology at Lafayette offers certificates and degrees in industrial technology and organizational leadership and supervision. Headquartered at the SIA Training Center, classes are offered on site and at various locations in Lafayette, including Wabash National, Fairfield Manufacturing and Caterpillar, as well as in Frankfort and Crawfordsville.
The Indianapolis location, located on the northwest side of the Indianapolis International Airport and sharing facilities with Vincennes University, offers degrees in aviation management and aeronautical technology, a certificate in industrial technology, and the FAA Collegiate Training Initiative, which provides air-traffic controller training to those with an aviation technology degree. Facilities include laboratories for advanced composites, air-traffic control, avionics and non-destructive testing.
Purdue's College of Technology educates more than 5,400 undergraduate students each year at its 11 locations throughout Indiana: West Lafayette, Anderson, Muncie, Columbus, Greensburg, Indianapolis, Kokomo, Lafayette, New Albany, Richmond and South Bend. Positioned to address the work force and educational needs of local citizens and corporate entities, each location's programs and degree options are dependent on regional work force needs.
