Appointments and promotions

— Mary Patchen will join the corporate relations team as the regional director of development for Indiana, effective Sept.10. Patchen has been in the development field since1996 and previously served as the associate director of philanthropy for the Nature Conservancy. She also worked as the director of institutional advancement for the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Patchen received her doctorate and bachelor's degrees from Purdue, and her master's degree from Ohio State University.

— Mollie Pennock has been promoted to development research services associate in advancement. Pennock formerly served as financial stewardship administrator.

— Jeremy Sheiko has joined the advancement team as a development research services associate. Sheiko, a Lexington, Ky., native, previously worked at the Cardinal Newman Society as donor relations and communications officer. He graduated from Christendom College in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in political science.

— Mary Jo Bartolacci has been appointed the first director of development for Discovery Park and the Purdue Research Foundation and Park. Bartolacci has served the advancement team for the past three years as director of advancement and major gifts in the College of Science.

— Doris Cronkhite has joined the advancement team as the new corporate relations secretary. She received her bachelor's degree in business and public administration from Florida Atlantic University and her associate's degree in English from Broward Community College.

Campus activities

— The Purdue University Police Department will deliver a campus safety presentation at 8 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 10) at Shreve Residence Hall's old dining hall. Alcohol awareness concepts will be stressed.
