September 6, 2007 Veterinary symposium at Purdue focuses on respiratory diseasesWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Veterinary Comparative Respiratory Society will bring together students and faculty from all over the world to discuss respiratory diseases at its 25th annual symposium at Purdue University on Oct. 11-13.Proteomics and Genomics for Complex Respiratory Diseases will take place in cooperation with the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine. A workshop on lung mechanics in small and large animals will consist of lectures on the mechanics of breathing and measurement of mechanical dysfunction in small and large animals, followed by a hands-on laboratory. In addition, experts will discuss anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the respiratory system and the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease in animals.
