Krannert's undergraduate program ranked in top 25 by U.S.News

The Krannert School shares the No. 21 slot with Georgetown University, the University of Arizona and the University of Maryland. The Krannert School is tied for No. 12 among business schools at public universities.
Krannert's undergraduate program also fared well in specialty rankings:
* In productions/operations management, it ranked No. 3 behind MIT and Carnegie Mellon and was the top-ranked public university.
* In quantitative analysis/methods, it ranked No. 4 behind MIT, Carnegie Mellon and University of Pennsylvania and also was the top-ranked public university.
* In supply chain management/logistics, Purdue ranked No. 10.
* In management information systems, the Krannert School was ranked 15th.
* In finance, Purdue was 21st.
"The Krannert School continues to rank among the best in the country," said Richard A. Cosier, Krannert School dean and Leeds Professor of Management. "We continue to be proud of our traditional strengths in operations management and quantitative analysis, which have consistently ranked among the top three and four."
The top undergraduate business school was the University of Pennsylvania, followed by MIT and the University of California, Berkeley, which was tied with the University of Michigan.
Indiana University's Kelley School of Business ranked No. 11, and the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business tied for No. 18 with Pennsylvania State University and the University of Minnesota.
The Krannert School of Management had 2,692 undergraduate students enrolled during the 2006-07 academic year, majoring in management, accounting, industrial management and economics, 405 master's students and 87 doctoral students. It offers master's degrees in management and human resource management; four executive MBAs through a combination of distance-learning and part-time residence on campus; bachelor's degrees in accounting, economics, management and industrial management; and the doctorate.
Earlier this year, U.S.News ranked Krannert School's MBA program No. 22 nationally.
In both 2004 and 2005, The Wall Street Journal named Krannert School a No. 1 MBA school. Earlier this year, Financial Times ranked the Krannert School No. 9 worldwide in top salaries in industry and ranked 12th worldwide in placement success.
Purdue's overall undergraduate programs at public national universities ranked No. 24, tied with University of Connecticut and University of Iowa.
Purdue's College of Engineering tied for ninth with Carnegie Mellon and the University of Texas-Austin for best programs at engineering schools whose highest degree is a doctorate.
The data for determining the nation's best institutions of higher education come from questionnaires sent to all accredited four-year colleges and universities. The magazine then determines its rankings based on several measures that fall into seven broad categories: peer assessment, retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and graduation rate.
The magazine bases its specialty rankings on ratings by deans and senior faculty in those disciplines at peer institutions.
