New Purdue president speaks during summer commencement

President France A. Córdova spoke at her first Purdue University commencement ceremony, which took place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 4) at Elliott Hall of Music.

Among the 1,234 degrees being awarded 602 were undergraduate degrees, three were professional degrees, 374 were master's degrees and 255 were doctoral degrees.

Nicole L. Key of Yorktown, Ind., who received a doctorate in mechanical engineering, provided the student response.
